Circle of Parents- begins Oct 2024

A "Circle of Parents" is a nationwide network of support groups designed for individuals in a parenting role, where members can openly discuss the challenges and successes of raising children, share ideas, access community resources, and build their parenting skills in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment, all facilitated by trained parent leaders; essentially, it's a mutual self-help model aimed at strengthening families.

Key points about Circle of Parents:

  • Focus on peer support:

The core concept is that parents can learn and support each other through sharing experiences and challenges in a group setting.

  • Facilitated by trained parents:

While open to all caregivers, the groups are typically led by trained parent facilitators who guide discussions and ensure a supportive atmosphere.

  • Confidentiality:

Group members are assured privacy when discussing personal parenting issues.

  • Community resource access:

Participants can learn about available community services and support networks relevant to their parenting needs.

  • No cost participation:

Many Circle of Parents groups are offered free of charge.

I have such a strong passion for what I do! It is an honor for me to work in this field where I can join with people in their life's journey. It is my goal to help people discover their many strengths and resolve past and present issues so they can live true and experience life to the fullest. I have a unique ability to meet and accept people where they are and strongly believe in the strength of the human soul to overcome and thrive! As a mother of six children, I have a passion for helping families, couples, and children!

Kaci Wilson, Facilitator

I truly enjoy facilitating the Circle of Parents group because it allows me to create a supportive and nurturing environment where parents can openly share their experiences and challenges. I find great fulfillment in helping parents connect with one another, fostering a sense of community and mutual support. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the growth and empowerment of parents as they gain new insights and strategies for raising their children. Additionally, facilitating these sessions has enriched my own understanding and appreciation of diverse parenting styles and challenges, contributing to my personal growth and leadership skills. Overall, being a part of this group is a deeply meaningful and impactful experience for me.
